Sometimes, you get that message.  The one that says, we would like you to photograph our family just being a family.  Sooner then later.  This happened to be one of those messages.  I was contacted by past  bride of 7 years this  Spring.  As tears filled my eyes while reading her message, my heart ached.  A  few weeks had passed before we could finally get everyone together.  I can remember driving to their house, and thinking that I need to hold myself together and hold back all my emotions.  I had to capture images of this beautiful family, just being themselves.  These were going to be their memories to hold onto. Forever.

The time we spent together touched my soul.  As I look at the images, I can remember exactly what they were doing and saying to each other.  It is like I am still there, with this family.

This shot makes me smile every single time I look at it.  I told sweet Callie to give Papa a kiss, and she ran over to her mother.  Gary’s look sums it all up.

Not even 10 days after this wonderful day, Gary bravely lost his battle to cancer.  No words can describe the sadness and heartache I felt when I got the news.

Gary, I know you are looking down on your loves, and still protecting them.  Thank you for allowing me to photograph your time together.

I have had the honor of being able to photograph Bryn a few times over the last year.  It all started a year ago.

9 days old.

Then this past fall at 6 months old along with her parents.

And just a couple weeks ago, Bryn at 1 year.

I love these two.  I’ve known Erin for a long time.  I was delighted last year when she contacted me about photographing her upcoming wedding.  Honored and excited.  It isn’t everyday that you get to photograph another photographers wedding.  I knew that she was beautiful, fun, and incrediably sweet, but knew nothing about Chad.  I found out quickly that he is just as wonderful as she is with the same sense of humor.  Together they make a perfect couple.

I love photographing graduating Seniors.  They are so full of life, so eager to get out there in the real world.  Brittney was just that.  Ready to see what the world has in store for her.  She is a hard worker, working a couple different jobs to save her money for college.  She is full of life, and ready to tackle everything that is sent her way.  She is equally beautiful on the outside as she is on the inside and I am so very glad she choose me to take her senior photos.

I love it when I get invited to photograph a new family in their home.  Such a joy.  I just feel the entire house bursting with so much love.  I get to document special moments of learning and loving.  There really is something about new parents holding their child in their arms.  Their hearts bursting with so much love.
