I’m not quite sure what it is about long weekends that seem to bring everything into perspective for me. Just a small reminder to live in the moment. Squeeze your loved ones tight. Listen to their hearts. Smile often. Love lot’s. Life is short. Take pictures. Thank a soldier. XOXO- Krissy
It is no lie that this winter has been a tad chilly. Ok, really chilly. Today was 50 degrees. The sun was warm. Water is everywhere around the farm. EVERYWHERE.
While I was watching Gertie Lu play in the water, I just want to remind everyone to enjoy every moment with your loved ones. No matter what. Hold them close to your heart. Capture real life. Dirty or clean. Enjoy this beautiful ride we are on. Splash through deep puddles. Laugh lots. Always be kind. Live in the moment. Snap a picture of two. Live fearlessly.
XOXO- Krissy
Sometimes we all just need a little boost. This statement speaks straight to my heart. I need that boost. I need to be better at blogging. I have a TON of fantastic images to share, and there they sit, on my hard drive. This is my public statement to blog more, even if it is one or two images. To show all I have to show and to reflect on past weddings and sessions that were really fantastic. This is a New Year. A new start. Look for some throwback posts, new posts, and posts that include some fantastic in site by industry professionals.
All kinds of good stuff coming your way. Thanks for hanging in there with me. Thanks for stopping by!
XOXO- Krissy
I still have open dates available for local and destination weddings. If you know anyone who is newly engaged, send them my way! I’d love to hear from them!
There are many reasons why I am a moment driven photographer. One of the most important to me is that I like to document real relationships, real life and put it into a photograph. Maybe not everyone is perfectly posed or maybe not everyone is dressed perfectly, maybe everyone isn’t even matching. I don’t care. I’m there to pass memories down from one generation to the other.
This article speaks right to my heart. It sums up everything I am trying to accomplish when I am photographing an event, a child, a family. Slow down, let them get messy, and cherish the moment. Cherish life. Cherish this relationship- whatever and wherever it may be.
You may remember a post I did on Gary and his family. Below is a quote straight from Tonia. The moment above is not staged in any way, nor was I paying attention to what Tonia & her Father were talking about. I’m so very blessed that I was able to create these memories for this family.
“This very true moment I will never forget. It’s the mere seconds after I first told my dad that Mike would take care of me and our kids, and the moment I told dad that Tricia would take care of Jeremy and their kids…. Krissy just so happened to catch this on film….. His moment of peace. Of clarity. Of “it’s ok to let go”…. Krissy’s placement of both Jeremy and my wedding pictures behind us, shows how blessed he was to have such amazing people love his kids.”
The last year has been- crazy.
I’ve been working on this new site, along with Ryan at Second Street Creavtive, for better then a year. Well, about a year-and-half. We started working together in about September of 2011. Everything was on track for a launch scheduled sometime in early 2012 (Jan/Feb/ March), when life happened. I found out that my husband and I were expecting and I was diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum. I was sick and it stuck with me throughout the entire 9+ months. In October of 2012, this beautiful little girl arrived and changed our lives (more on her a little later). We couldn’t be happier. We are truly blessed.
Meet our Sweet Gertie Lu:
Needless to say, my website was put on hold. A very, very long hold.
Things are back on track now, with lot’s of things to talk about with the new me! More blogging, more posts, tons of weddings, families, and many updates on what I’ve been up too….
Stay tuned & thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoy my new look and new site as much as I do…
